Designing with the Line and Poise of a Dance Company
Inner World Artist Management is a boutique artist management and entertainment production company representing dance and music artists. What distinguishes IWAM is the breadth of what it handles under one roof: the same company that negotiates contracts and books tours is also in the theater running technical direction and designing the lighting. The website needed to reflect both sides of that identity: the operations and the artistry.
Visuals
The power and beauty of the performances take center stage here. Editorial photography from the dance companies IWAM represents leads the visual experience. These are images made on professional performance stages, and they establish the caliber of the work immediately.
The client’s colorful logo was brought back to favicon-dimension to preserve the brand's color and energy without letting it compete with the photography. That same gradient was then carried into custom round buttons that recur throughout the site, tying every call to action back to the brand mark.
Montserrat’s elegance was deployed throughout, keeping text-heavy pages light and airy. Its geometric letterforms also carry circles in their roots, so the round buttons reinforce the typography.
Structure
The layout mirrors a performance night program booklet: the company introduces itself the way a booklet opens with a note from the director. Artist and company profiles come next, and then the booking invitation closes it out.
That sequence also allows the site to easily serve two audiences. Artists are evaluating whether IWAM can carry their careers; presenters are evaluating whether IWAM can deliver a production on time and on budget.
This is a content-rich site by necessity. Artists and presenters choosing a management partner need substance, so rich image galleries are interwoven throughout to break up the density.
The site resolves into a single clear action, and "Secure Your Spot" is box-office language that speaks to an audience that already lives in the vocabulary of tickets and dates.
