How to Remove An Old Link From Google
In most cases, you’ll both fix the URL on the website itself and, if needed, request a faster removal through Google.
Option 1: Set up a 301 redirect
It sends anyone (and Google) from the old link to the new one, and over time Google will swap the old URL out of search results.
Go to Settings → Developer Tools → URL Mappings
Add a new line in this format: /old-page-url → /new-page-url 301
Example: /services-old → /services
Click Save
Google will gradually replace the old link with the new one.
Option 2: Tell Google to fix it
Google will eventually delete old pages on its own. But, if you want it removed a little faster, you can use Google Search Console:
Log in (you have an account if you have a Google account): https://search.google.com/search-console
Select your website
Click “Removals” in the left menu
Click “New Request”
Paste the full URL
Submit
This hides the page from search results quickly while Google processes the permanent change.
