Reclaiming the Strategic Layer for Wildwood Communications

There is a particular kind of exhaustion that belongs to people who are very good at their jobs. Debra Ceffalio knows it well. As a former communications leader at Albertsons and US Foods, navigating IPOs, billion-dollar mergers, and layoffs, she has sat in the chair she now exists to support. Wildwood Communications was built for the senior communications executive who has proven the value of their position time and again and still finds themselves buried in execution, unable to surface for the strategic work only they can do.

The challenge for the website design was that corporate communications consulting is, visually speaking, a difficult category, prone to the grey palette and stock photography of a thousand identical professional services sites. The instinct is often to play it safe. Wildwood Communications took the opposite approach, and the site stands apart from every other consultant's page in its category.

The multi-color logo sets the direction: orange, green, and beige are bright and confident, and unabashedly uncorporate. The design leans into them. Thoughtful color blocking gives each section of the narrative its own distinct visual energy while communicating expertise and warmth.

Imagery, in contrast, is limited, as office stock photography can be overused and generic. Blurred bokeh office backgrounds provide texture. People appear in vibrant outfits that echo the brand palette, and expressions that read as genuine.

Curves appear in buttons and in section dividers, inspired by the shapes of the logo itself, creating the consistency that is a hallmark of a professional, trustworthy brand.

The copy and structure work in close partnership with the design. Wildwood's audience is sophisticated and time-poor, and the site respects both. The value proposition is front and center: “Get your time back.” From there, the content articulates the specific frustrations of a senior communications leader; by the time Debra's biography appears, the credibility it establishes feels like confirmation of something already understood.
