MAKING AN IMPACT

Nonprofits

I've spent more than a decade as a nonprofit board member and president, including ten years with ReSource St. Louis, a construction materials diversion nonprofit, and roles with Great Rivers Greenway, the St. Louis Green Dining Alliance, and the AIA Architecture 2030 Committee. I don't just design for nonprofits, I've lived the experience of running one, writing grants, managing communications, and stretching limited resources to make an outsized impact.

MISSION-DRIVEN

COMMUNITY-FOCUSED

MISSION-DRIVEN COMMUNITY-FOCUSED

✔ Clear mission

Visitors should understand who you are and why it matters within seconds of arriving, not after reading three paragraphs of organizational history.

✔ Serving multiple audiences

Community organizations often have more stakeholders than a typical business: board members, donors, residents, volunteers, event attendees, and prospective members. Good navigation and smart structure make sure each of them finds what they need.

✔ One-on-One Squarespace Training Included

Nonprofits often have limited staff and high turnover. Every project includes a live, hands-on training session so your team can manage the site confidently from day one — no tech background required.

✔ trust through transparency

Whether that means featuring your impact, your leadership, your history, or your financials, trust is built through openness. I design for credibility so that first-time visitors become long-term supporters.

✔ Making action easy

Donating, joining, registering, volunteering, getting in touch — whatever you want people to do next, the path should be obvious and effortless.

FEATURED WORK

Compton Heights Neighborhood Betterment Association

Compton Heights is one of St. Louis's most storied historic neighborhoods, designed in 1888 and home to some of the city's most architecturally significant residences.

The association needed a site that could honor that legacy while serving a wide range of practical needs: annual event ticketing, resident resources, neighborhood history, a member portal, and a buying and selling guide — all within a navigation structure clear enough for both longtime residents and first-time visitors.

“Thanks so much for all you do; on behalf of the board and me! You’ve been such a reliable community partner. I greatly appreciate all you do to help make the marketing piece happen!"

— Codi Holt, The Grove CID

“We'd been talking about building a new website for over a year and had been told we could probably do it ourselves but hadn't been able to find the time to push it forward. Sara's thoughtful, approachable style made the entire process less intimidating and a lot more fun.”

— Jenny Connely-Bowen, Community Builders Network
